Facebook Group - NEW

If you have read our latest post about our future plans, changes and announcements, if you haven't then please check it out below and there is a very quick survey to be taken too.

Everyone has voted for a Facebook group for a while now, so we have done what was asked :) You can either go to the link below or search "#mblogchat - mummy bloggers community"

I will be putting all rules up on there, but here are a few so far:

You are only allowed to post one link a day to your post/blog.
Questions are allowed to be asked if you need info etc.
No nastiness/bitchiness.
Please message admin if you have any problems.

If you do not follow the rules, then you will be warned a maximum of twice and then you will be removed on third chance. This depends on the severity of the issue at hand, we do have the right to remove anyone if we believe someone is in harm, at threat, being bullied or anything along those lines.

I hope you enjoy this new Facebook group and put your requests to join in now :)

Best Wishes, Mummy Bloggers Team x

Thankyou & Future Plan Annoucements :)

Hello everyone,

THANKYOU!!!

I would like to start of by thanking you for stopping by and reading this post :) As well as a big thankyou for all your support and friendliness from the beginning and making mummy bloggers community what it is today. Now I need a bit of help to improve so please keep reading :)

Twitter Hashtag/Chat

Mummy Bloggers has been running since the end of January on our Twitter, which you can see by clicking here (@mummy_bloggers). We created the weekly #mblogchat which is every Friday 8-9pm for mummies or mummy bloggers but everyone is welcome of course, topic changes weekly. It has been such a success, I really enjoy talking to everyone and we do have a great time as everyone is so friendly and welcoming.

As well as using the hashtag #mblogchat for the chat, if you promote your posts including the hashtag or by tagging us, then you will get a RT :)

Instagram

We have instagram, which is new to us and trying to get the hang of it - you can find it here (@mummy_bloggers). So be sure to follow us, we follow back and use the hashtag #mblogchat there so we can see your posts and possible RT!

Blog

Guest Bloggers

With the chat such a success, back in April I decided to create this blog as a community for all mummy bloggers and it is a community. You may wonder why the blog is so quiet, because I do not write for it as I have my own personal blog for that. This is a community, which in return means I need you guys to help with posting. I was looking at having 2 posts a week on a Thursday and Saturday, but the demand hasn't been great or have been let down. When we have had some great posts from you guys, it has been terrific so I couldn't stress more how much I need you guys to help out! If you would be interested here is some more info:

- Pick your own topic, anything you like (something that mummies would want to read but can be baby, beauty, lifestyle, review etc)
- Write it up, add a picture or a few!
- Send it over to our email mummybloggers@outlook.com
- We then post with links to your blog and social media

It is a way to get your blog heard of and reach a different/wider audience :)

Blog Badge

We have a badge and may I just say that it is a bloody pretty badge! So I want you guys to add this to your blog page, all of you, so we can spread the word and everyone who sees it will know you are a part of this great mummy bloggers community :) Just copy the HTML link in the white box below and paste in your blog side bar pretty please!

Series/Projects

We are now on the final week of our #mummyessentialproject series type thing, started off doing well but towards the end has deflated a little with only really me posting. My own fault as I didn't advertise enough. Be sure to check it out though as frankly there was some great informative posts that will be helpful for mums to be and mums starting to wean etc :)

I want to do more projects/series in the future if this is something people would actually be interested in?

Facebook

We do have a Facebook page but it is so unloved and not essential so shall be getting deleted. But I wondered if you guys wanted a facebook group created for us to share our posts etc, I am a member of a couple on Facebook and find them to be very good. There is one similar for mummy bloggers specifically, but there is never any harm in another. We have had a couple of people ask for us to create one but we would like more people's opinions before going ahead.

BlogLovin

As we have plans for the future to make this blog a success and widen our audience etc, we do have a BlogLovin which you should follow to keep up to date on upcoming news on everything and of course posts. Follow by clicking here - we are close to 50 :)

Future Plans

We have two very exciting things that will be starting in the very near future, these are:

- weekly link up for your best post of the week (sunday)
- weekly Q&A with one different mummy blogger to get to know them better (tuesday)

As I have said both of these will be starting in the future, when I have thought of some catchy names and made badges for them. I am excited for these and can't wait for them to kick off!

Meet Up

Towards the end of the year, I am hoping to plan a meet up for mummy bloggers from all across the UK and further if you wish to travel. There are no immediate plans but I do want to allow myself enough time to plan everything properly. There would probably be a small charge because I am unable to come up with all the costs myself, but I shall get companies aboard etc. What do you think?

Survey

I have created a Survey below which it would mean the world if you could fill it out to give us some idea of how well you think we are doing and on improvements etc. It is annoynomous, but there is the option to leave your name and blog if you wish :)

https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/BVGDJKX

I hope you have all managed to stay tuned for this long, if you have, thank you very much :) suggestions and ideas would be welcome.

Best Wishes, Mummy Blogger Team x

Guest Post // To Ground Or Not?!

Welcome,

At the minute we are having a pretty tough time with Ellie, she is 9yo and well as my mum would say to me (when i was a teen bear in mind!!) her ''attitude stinks''.

So this week that was it I, had enough and I grounded her, something I promised my teenage self I would never do!

BUT

She has been pushing her luck (and my buttons) for over a week...she knows what she is doing...she knows right from wrong...she also knows that what ever I say I wont follow through, but guess what? This time she pushed it to far...this time she WAS grounded!!

I wont go into the details (it would take to long!!) but it basically started because I said she couldn't take her phone to my Nans (she stays every Thursday).

The grounding came after days of hearing, sorry being screamed at 'dont even love me' and 'just say no because I don't love her' and her ridiculous screaming and tantrums like a 2yo at being asked to do the smallest thing...like erm changing her underwear...brushing her hair...bringing her washing down! Tidying her room! Emptying her lunch-box! All small chores, nothing to taxing, for an independent 9 year old to do.

I know some of you will be saying 'shes just a kid', 'all kids do it'...but every day? screaming and kicking off? Standing on the stairs whilst I'm in a different room shouting 'dont kill me, don't hit me'...I remember my sister (now 22...yes, YOU Roxy (if your reading this!!!) shouting all this rubbish at my Mum, I remember laughing thinking it was quite funny! But when its happening to you, in this day, when Social Services can turn up at your door for anything? It scares the shit out of me! The things she will do to get a reaction, to get me to give her some attention!

So anyway she got her reaction, her phone (she has had a mobile-phone for around 6mth to keep in touch with her Dad and his side of her family, and also for us to keep in touch with her when she goes away to visit them), her tablet was taken away as was her TV AND CD player...Harsh? Well I didn't stop there, she was also NOT allowed to go to Brownies or any of her after school clubs...and our new found 'Date Night' was cancelled (Something I was GUTTED about, I was looking forward to a girly evening having some tea just the 2 of us!)

Her behaviour didn't improve the next day and I kicked myself...now she has nothing to lose why should she behave? What did I now have to say behave or......I may have, ahem, peaked to soon!

I had to think quick, but I couldn't think, I was too upset and I did something I shouldn't have done I sat and I cried...in fact I bawled, I know I shouldn't have let her see that she had ''won'' but that was it I was done...I cried and I told her to go to her room and she huffed and ran upstairs...Jenson (3) came for a squeezey hug and wiped my tears away, Ellie stayed up in her room for an hour or so before coming down and apologising, saying sorry off her own back! Since then she has behaved and now, as I write this, the day of un-grounding has come round, she has had everything back and the slate wiped clean. Her behaviour has been alot better, I know its only a few evenings of good behaviour but I think it has worked.

What do you do to punish your older children? A few pointers would be great!!

Today's Guest Post was written by Becky from 3 Princesses and 1 Dude, a great post (I dread the day I have to ground my C) - visit her blog here, Twitter here and BlogLovin here. If you would like to write a post for us, please contact via twitter or email thank you :)
